Jazmine Bartlett is an Austin artist and photographer whose photographic work consists of a wide range of genres, including portraits, landscapes, musicians, and fine art. She earned her BA in photocommunications with a minor in art from St. Edward’s University, graduating in May 2018. Jazmine enjoys the control of working in the studio space as well as letting chance dictate her subject matter, as in her ongoing roadkill project. As someone whose work is constantly changing in subject, she finds herself working with the unknown, or the undiscovered, and adapting to the conditions her environment dictates for her. Her photographic process is based on what catches her eye, leading to the diversity found in her images. Jazmine’s work can be no more than banal, to having a deeper message, but is generally the culmination of finding a moment and documenting it, regardless of whether that moment was anticipated or not.
